Dive Bar Gems

Las Vegas boasts an extraordinary selection of dive bars, making Vegas an ideal destination for those seeking a gritty and vibrant experience. Below, I’ve curated a selection of some of my personal favorites, presenting you with a variety of options to explore if you dare:

Double Down Saloon: “The Happiest Place on Earth” This iconic dive bar is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. It’s known for its punk-rock vibe, strong drinks such as the famous “Ass Juice” cocktail,

Frozen Jameson Irish Coffee, and their infamous bacon martin., They also feature live entertainment, including very well-known punk bands. #Shutupanddrink

Frankie’s Tiki Room: If you’re a fan of tropical-themed bars, Frankie’s Tiki Room is a must-visit. This quirky dive bar features a wide selection of tiki inspired, rum based cocktails, dim lighting, vintage Polynesian décor, original art by Doug Horn, and loose slot machines.  One of the originals and still top tiki bar in town.

Atomic Liquors: Established in 1952, Atomic Liquors is the oldest freestanding bar in Las Vegas. It has a rich history and was a popular spot for locals and even celebrities. The bar offers a selection of craft beers, signature cocktails, and a patio with fantastic views of downtown Las Vegas. Make sure you check out the ” Jameson Century Club” Alum – quite impressive. This was one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite Vegas spots.

The Sand Dollar Lounge
: This dive bar has been a Las Vegas institution since 1976. Which offers live blues music, an impressive cocktail program, and light bites. Pizza is the star of the menu here, the “Night in White Satin” in a crowd favorite!

Dino’s Lounge: Dino’s Lounge is a classic dive bar that has been operating since the 1960s. It has a vintage Vegas feel, complete with red vinyl booths and a jukebox. The bar offers affordable drinks, karaoke nights, and a friendly atmosphere. If smokey room with poker …

Red Dwarf:

Not your typical Dive bar, I would be characterized as a punk rock dive bar with a hint of tiki. You have your obligatory fish nets hanging from the ceiling, with a multitude of colorful fish, as well as, velvet painting and tiki torches dimly illuminating the room. The walls are  covered in old concert posters, and there is a stage where live music is performed, including soul, garage rock, blues, and ska. A very eclectic pool of talent comes here.  It also has an extensive beer menu, and it is know if it’s Detroit style pizza – not to be missed: “Pineapple DOES belong on a pizza”, with a side of Dwarf Piss , now that is the perfect combo!

Silver Stamp

Calling the Silver Stamp a dive bar is a slight stretch due to its cleanliness, friendly staff, and overall charm. When you walk in you are immediately transported back to the 1970s. A true replica of a man-cave very reminiscent of a Jersey basement. Slick wood paneling and a large wall of recycled beer cans, adorn the walls with Christmas lights hanging from the drop ceiling. Additionally, it has a phenomenal craft beer menu, which explores both domestic and international offerings. There is a very limited food menu with pickled eggs, chips and hot dogs being the extent. Outside food has been welcome in the past so maybe double check before bringing your snacks!

Tip: It is always a good idea to make reservations if possible, as these venues tend to be popular and have limited
